Vishal Bhardwaj should thank William Shakespeare for giving him such great stories to work with but again I don’t want to take any credit away from Vishal for giving us such a great movie. If I have to compare between Maqbool, Omkara and Haider, this is probably the best work Bhardwaj has done when it comes to adaptations and also his best movie till date. I have always liked Shahid Kapoor when he has done some serious stuff and his performance in this movie will ensure accolades both critically and commercially. He has looked every bit the part he has played and so did Tabu. She has developed into a fine actor over the years and I especially like the undertone she brings to her acting. Kay Kay Menon showed what he is made out of though at some places he could have under played a bit.
Vishal Bhardwaj as has used his camera like a master and some of the shots and camera angles are breathtaking. For Kashmir it is aptly said “if there is heaven on earth, it is Kashmir”. Alas if only politics would have spared it. The movie is a cruel reality of how life prevails in the valley and I sincerely hope things change for good. The music of the movie moves from being soulful at some place to unnecessary.
By the way did you see Shraddha Kapoor?
