It is a Ketan Mehta film and you kind of know what to expect when you enter the theater, you know what I mean. He is also a great exponent of the canvas. If you are an artist I am sure you will like this movie. It is an adaptation of a fiction based on the great Indian painter Raja Ravi Verma. I am sure almost everyone will have seen a painting made by him. This movie was completed in 2008 but due to legal and distribution issues it could be only released now.
Randeep Hooda and Nandana Sen have probably given their best performance till date. Both looked the part they played. Ketan Mehta’s command over his script is the key behind this tightly executed movie. There are many intimate and passionate moments captured in this movie but non will look or feel out of place and have been handled with style. The music Sandesh Shandilya is soulful. It is a period film and the art work and sets have to be perfect and the director has got them spot on. The only area where it should have been better is the ending. Go watch it for its color.
