Movie Review – Chef****

Chef-Film

A chef’s pride and ego gets shattered when a food critic writes of him as run of the mill. It had a tiff with the critic and to make matters worse also loses his job. His ex-wife hooks him up with her ex-husband and a food truck is rolled out. Helped by his colleague and son the truck becomes an instant success. Above all this film is a story of a father and son and a journey into mouth-watering food.

You will just love this film. It is funny, tasty and also has a heart. It is one film when you long for more and wish this journey does not end. Jon Favreau has Chef Carl Casper is just brilliant. He is also helped by his personality which convinces you to believe his love for food. He grows on you as a chef. Emjay Anthony is so cute and adds the right amount of flavor most convincingly as chef’s son. They are ably supported by John Leguizamo. Sofia Vergara is hot, spicy and with her accent is a treat and Oliver Platt as the undesirable food critic you can actually taste the feed on-screen (lucky guy).

The journey of the food truck also takes you to some of the exotic locations in US. Jon Favreau also keeps the pace of the film fast and with the neat screenplay you never feel bored. Cameos from Dustin Hoffman, Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey Jr. are the extra cheese and toppings. I am yet to meet someone who doesn’t love good food and you will surely going to like the taste of this dish.
