As time passes in one’s life, reality and practicality starts getting more priority and your childhood dreams, aspirations take a back seat. Then again if you had a troubled past it kind of haunts you in the future. This movie tells a story about two talented fighters, two prodigy destined to do well in the ring in their childhood. They drift apart with time due to family disturbance and a drunk father. To meet ends in their lives destiny again brings them face to face but this time it is different. This time it is about hate, revenge, fight and survival.
I much say Warrior is without doubt one of the best action movies I have every seen in my life. The mixed martial art fight sequences are masterfully crafted and look so real. The movie has the right kind of blend of emotions to keep you glued to your seats. It is hard to believe this movie never got the recognition it deserves. Nominated for best actor in a supporting role Nick Nolte gives one of his best performances of his career. Joel Edgerton impresses in both his avatars but the stand out performance for me is of Tom Hardy. He is just brilliant. He nails each and every scene he is in and you want him more and more as the story unfolds. He masterfully shows the dark and bright side of his character with ease.
Director Gevin O’Connon has done a brilliant job in bringing out the best in each actor. The story is well written, characters are never out-of-place and have the necessary screen time. The movie has a great pace to it which is apt for this kind of story and it ends well.
To summaries if you are a fight fan or otherwise just don’t miss it. You will surely enjoy every bit of it.
