A Jazz drummer is pushed to his limits and beyond by his extremely demanding teacher. It is a story about dedication and hard work clubbed with some craziness.

The story of this movie is very simple and uncomplicated but the execution is undoubtedly outstanding. Clubbed with superlative performance by lead actor Miles Teller & J K Simmons this is one heck of a movie to watch. I am a big fan of the new talent Teller and have written about it in my earlier blog. He has a great comic timing and comes across as a natural but what was impressive here is his similar ease to execute a much more demanding role.

What can I say about J K Simmons, I guess the role was written for him. At one point of time you start thinking what if you had a similar teacher? Either you would have become a genius or a murderer. The movie also sports some smart editing, screenplay and has a generous pace to it. It will keep you glued to your seat and will make you contemplate it hours after the movie ends.

Don’t miss it, watch it with you teenage kid for setting example for sheer dedication and hard work.
