Movie Review: Tanu Weds Manu Returns****

4 years after their marriage the wacky couple return on-screen to tickle us with their wrecked married life, its fallout, tussles, ex and new lovers and lots of chaos.

First things first, Kangana Ranaut is just outstanding. How much an actor has improved is echoed by her collection of ever-growing national and other awards and her choice of films. She has been appreciated by her fans and critics alike which is remarkable. Credit also should go to director Aanand Rai for his characterisation especially of Kusum Sangwan and the screenplay. The pace of the movie is good and the duration is just adequate. The second best character is Pappi played by Deepak Dobriyal who deserves my special mention. 90% of the film is a combination of Kusum and Pappi.

Now what I did not like and the reason this movie only got 4 star and not 4, 1/2 star is the ending. Though the movie succeed in making us laugh throughout but it also leaves a sad memory of a girl and her incomplete story. It also communicate a weak characterisation of Manu in the end which to me could have been avoided as for better part of 1 and ½ movie is quite strong. We as a society are matured enough to understand an ending which is probably more practical as in life sometimes we have to move on.

This is a definite watch, don’t miss it.
