Movie Review – Dil Dhadakne Do**

On board a cruise an upper class Mehra family has a tough journey from denials and false notions to finding truth and happiness in the family. There is though a dog in the movie who is the most balanced character.

Directed by Zoya Akthar and very unlike her other movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, this film is a pain to watch. If the latter was a fresh take on journey of life for three friends, this is a sticky journey which just not want to more on. The music is boring and the pace of the movie is too slow to keep you awake to see the long three-hour movie.

What is good though is Anil Kapoor and his co-actor Shefali Shetty as Mr. and Mrs. Mehra. Their chemistry and acting ability are the strong points of the film. The rest of the family and friends are either shabbily written characters or under cooked once barring Ranveer Singh who showed promise. Other area where the film shines is its breathtaking cinematography and the effort to capture the awesome view from the top of the cruise.

I expected more from Zoya.

  1. I found it boring and incomplete. It’s neither comedy or a complete drama. Farhan Akhtar’s role was a special appearance and Anushka was also just supporting cast. Dog had the best dialogues. Ranveer acted through expressions which were good. No character had a complete graph except anil kapoor.
The movie was long and incomplete.
