Antaheen (Antoheen) or Endless in English is a story about love and relationships both on and offline.
This movie has some legends of Indian cinema, some very talented stars both established and upcoming. The line up of names like Rahul Bose, Sharmila Tagore, Aparna Sen, Kalyan Ray, Mita Vasisht & Radhika Apte is good enough for you to be motivated to see the film. But the fun ends there and what you are greeted with is a long slow storytelling. The story just does not move and whatever happens is squeezed in the very end. Yes the actors try hard to shine with their efforts but the story is just too predictable and you end up getting that been there seen it all feeling. Writer director Aniruddha Roy Chawdhury seems to be having an advertisement background as every scene seems to be an ad of a product especially with the use of soft lenses, slow motions and angles.
Apart from the acting, I think the brightest part of this movie is its music. Shantanu Moitra has done a wonderful job and is ably accompanied by excellent voices like Shreya Ghoshal, Shaan & Babul Supriyo. There are defiantly some very good moments but I think the ending could have been better written minus all the melodrama. Another thing I don’t understand why are all the Bongs fascinated with whiskey and smoking. Almost every scene has someone either smoking a cigarette, pipe or/and drinking. I am sure Bengali culture is much richer than what is shown in films nowadays.
