This installation is set on the same story line as the first one with more star power. A crumbling judiciary and a dishonest lawyer turning good. So does it do something different? Well the plain and simple answer is no. But it does entertain you and it has to do with some great acting by veterans like Anu Kapoor & Saurabh Shukla. This time the title role has been apprised by Akshay Kumar and he does a dependable job. Another note worthy performance is given by Kumud Mishra as the corrupt cop.
The story though entertaining is not as original as the first film. It tried to do too many things in a very shot period of time. Actually Jolly LLB can be a very good premise of the good mini series with gripping thriller and drama solving a case in 8 to 10 episode. Unfortunately in this film due to time constraints there are some over the top revelations which happen in one court session, which in real world might take years. But we have to keep in mind that this is a film and that to from Bollywood. I Indian cinema has been a distinct lack of roles written for good female leads when compared to west and it is made more obvious with absolute waste of a talent like Huma Qurashi.
Overall it is a decent film for a one time watch and yes in a typical Akshay Kumar style it will make good money. He is a bankable actor with whom producers cant go wrong.
