Movie Review – Hidden Figures****

What can you say about a film lead by three African American female actors. Well it is the highest grossing Oscar nominated film of the year and it is still going strong. And frankly speaking it is well deserved. It is set in a time when America was going though its worst racist era. It was a time when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was fighting for the equality of Black people in America. A time when the cold war was in its peak. It is a story about thee strong ladies who walked along side the best scientist in NASA to put man up in the stars.

This is a actors movie generally reserved for top billed stars of Hollywood but you should go see it to believe as to how actors and not stars like Taraji P henson, Octavia Spencer & Janelle Monae (now why is she not nominated for the best supporting actress at the academy awards is beyond my humble understanding) pull of a movie like this on their own and do it so successfully. Yes there is Kevin Costner, Yes there is Kristen Dunst and they do their bit very will but it is those three ladies how steal the show.

This is a American film and it satisfies its glory but as a film it is a satisfying one and one of the best you can watch this year.
