When Beauty and the beast released in the year 1991 it made history as the first animated movie to ever get nominated for best picture at the Oscars. This year Disney reboots the classic as a live action version and it again seems to be going the same route. The box office collection will for sure cross the billion dollar mark in April for this nostalgic ride. Disney has left nothing to chance and it is a visual and musical delight with all of the classic songs remastered. In fact they have added few. The best thing is that they did not go the rediscover way and just recreated the animated classic.

On the performance front all the cast are very good if not great. I really liked Ewan McGregor as Lumiere and with such stellar support cast you cannot ask for more. My only issue with the film is the CGI Beast. Sure you cannot do much about it but it also proves a point that we are still not perfect in this department. IT was almost an impossible task to hide the obvious. Also as there is nothing new in the film when it comes to story, it is no more than a ride through memory lane.

Overall they have achieved what they intended to do with the film. For sure take your kids. The theater was full of them and they really enjoyed it.
